Has starsight eyes, a warm clear green; she doesn't call them that, though, because she doesn't like the association. Apparently her hair used to be floor-length, but she cuts it during her exile; has the Asaniefa's widow's peak, a full mouth, and a straight nose. ==History/Bio==
Surela is a third generation Eldritch, which makes her a contemporary (more or less) with Hirianthial and Liolesa, though she is a little younger than either. Her mother was the third daughter of the (very fertile) union of Melandra Silin and her husband, Alassan--because of this, she had six aunts and two uncles, and while she had no siblings she had plenty of cousins. Their reunions were proving grounds for the cutthroat politics they'd encounter at courts. Surela does not have a high opinion of family, since what she knows about it involves all her cousins trying to get ahead at one another's expense. Asaniefa was well off, but positions of power and import were not numerous enough to satisfy the ambitions of the Silin children.

She had one cousin who served as a sort of mentor/big sister, Edorinassa, daughter of Gilinatha Silin Asaniefa, who went early into the convent life, and a cousin she was close to, Aelanora, daughter of Halueth Silin Asaniefa. Her foremost irritant was Naethanian, son of Lirenith Silin Asaniefa.

When she became head of the family, she chose for her personal mark a shield.<ref name="lais-20" />

Liolesa says of her: "As great a grievance as I have with Surela Silin Asaniefa, she was no less a child of Goddess and God, and she was a good mistress to her people. Clannish, close- minded, and ambitious to her destruction... but a superla- tive manager. The individual heads of the Asaniefa families might have been useless or vicious, but she curtailed their excesses and did more than what was expected for her tenants. That is not to say I have or ever will forgive her, niece. Wanted to push the alien influence out. Never wanted to kill anyone, wanted only to rule: "She could not rule dead people. She could not win the hearts of corpses. Thaniet's death (and Athanesin setting Jisiensire to the torch) were the final straws that made her no longer want to be queen, and to decide to do whatever she could in her power to reverse the damage she'd done in effecting the coup.<ref name="lais-12" />

She was set into a prison with Reese, tortured, raped by humans, Then by a Chataava.

The end of the coup, with the Chatcaavan taking an interest in Surela, and nearly killing her until she stabbed him. "Surela had long since ceased to care about the distinctions between Eldritch Houses. The politics that had once dominated her life had fallen away in significance beside the far greater menace that she had invited into their world in all her hubris. The only thing that mattered, seeing [[Araelis Mina Jisiensire|Araelis]]'s bloodless lips and wide eyes, was that the Chatcaavan intended to inflict himself on another Eldritch woman, and the only thing stopping him was the completion of his entertainment with her. He was interested in his brother's venture creating the family of Osin, however, though never enough to create any gossip that he was more interested in his brother's power than his wife's.

After Iriamiel's death, Onaeron lost interest in [[Silin (Eldritch Family)|Silin]], however, and became more involved with Osin. He was rarely present while Surela was growing up. Once she was an adult, he did come with the family to the seasonal courts, and was in charge at the Silin townhouse, with his daughter's assistance in the background.<ref name=":0" />

Talk here about how being trapped in the cell with Reese during the coup changed their relationship, until Reese could become her liegelady. "Well, then, Surela's a work in progress, she's just got further to go."<ref name="lais-20" />

She told no one about this, but her dam saw her Change once and beat her for it. When her grandsire was defeated by the [[Emperor Kauvauc Ueneuvin |Emperor]], she was captured and brought to the [[Throneworld Court]] as a prize, to become his Slave Queen, the most exalted and most debased of all females. As of the arrival of Lisinthir, the Queen was in a uniquely rarefied position: the most exalted and most debased female. She had a comparatively private space and a few duties of her own (including bringing slaves to the [[Throneworld Court Palace#Preparation Room |preparation room]] to be decorated and collared, and giving permission for females in the harem to attempt to conceive). She had an alien slave who attended to her: [[Laniis Baker]], who she named Khaska after ancient Chatcaavan bellringers, because Laniis was distressed at being called "Slave." She was also protected from the attentions of most other males and from humiliating public use, though not because she was valued as a person, but because she was the Emperor's private possession and he was reluctant to share. For the most part, the only ones given frequent freedom of her tower were the Emperor and [[Second-Who-Was |Second]], and Second was usually gentle with her, requiring little more than bathing and wing-oiling. Nevertheless, her despair was only muted by the fact that she had never imagined freedom or personhood for herself and so did not miss it.<ref name="etw-01" /><ref name="etw-02" />

The Queen's first, life-changing encounter with Ambassador Lisinthir was at his introduction to the court, which—due to the machinations of [[Third-Who-Was |Third]] and his [[Baavo (Hand) |Baavo]], along with the Emperor himself—also included the presence of three new alien slaves: a [[Unnamed Characters#Alien Slaves of the Emperor |Malarai and Tam-illee]], and, notably, an [[Eldritch]] like Lisinthir: [[Bethsaida Emil Galare]], who the Queen did not yet know was the heir of the Eldritch queen. She noted Laniis's dismay as the new ambassador seemed indifferent to her plight and the plight of the new slaves. The Queen and Laniis told the new slaves that they were unable to do anything for them, and thus oversaw the rapid deterioration in Bethsaida, as she suffered from receiving too many violent and lascivious touches, and quickly became first ill and then unresponsive.<ref name="etw-01" />

Lisinthir's indifference (having never been true) did not last, as Lisinthir quickly requested permission to be able to visit the Queen, and the Emperor, amused, permitted it. Lisinthir used the time to assess Bethsaida's health and slowly begin to convince the Queen of her agency. This led to many additional effects: an increasing sense of restlessness and a desire to learn Laniis's real name and then her language among them. Ultimately the Queen and Laniis felt able to assist with a rescue operation. The plan required the Queen to take an Eldritch pattern to mimic Bethsaida during her 'presentation' and public rape, but Bethsaida, already traumatized from being handled by the Chatcaava, could not bear her touch for long enough for the Touch to succeed. Lisinthir instead provided the Pattern for her, and she stood in Bethsaida's stead, to be publicly raped and tortured by the Emperor while in an Eldritch form, as Bethsaida, Laniis, and the two other slaves escaped, though Laniis expressed sorrow at leaving her behind. In the aftermath, the Queen decided to ask Lisinthir to tell her more of [[Universal]], the language Laniis had begun teaching her, and about his home.<ref name="etw-01" />

As Lisinthir rose in favor, the Queen counseled him on the ways that he would be challenged and tested by other males--most especially the Emperor. He came to her after he had been raped by the Emperor, and she called for the [[Sehkvit (The Surgeon) |Surgeon]] to heal the honor wounds. Second also came to her, and shocked her by seeking information from her about Lisinthir; he spoke to her as if she knew things that were useful, which was a foreign and unsettling thing. Lisinthir continued to visit her every morning even as he was assaulted on a regular basis, and while he taught her Universal and told her about his people and how to think as they did, she continued to advise him. He, too, unsettled her by indicating that he was lifting the Veil for her because he trusted her, and that he was incapable of ceasing to see her as a person. She was further unnerved as the Emperor began to seek her without agitation or anger, content with "trivial obeisance," though he did still leave her bound in an uncomfortable pose for a full night.<ref name="etw-02" />

During the [[Emerald (Mother) |Mother]]'s nearly-disastrous labor, the Queen aided Lisinthir in calling for the Surgeon, who normally did not treat females. After Lisinthir succeeded in convincing him, and the Mother was saved along with her newborn son, the harem warmed to the Queen and invited her to stay, crediting her with the Mother's survival. Later, Second came to her in agitation, and while she oiled his wings, she heard him discussing getting rid of Lisinthir with Third. She feared for Lisinthir, a fear borne out when Lisinthir informed her of Second's attempt at poisoning him. The Queen informed Lisinthir about the potential of using small doses of hekkret to build up immunity, and provided him his first rolls.<ref name="etw-02" />

The Emperor came to ask her about Lisinthir, and she acknowledged that he came to visit her every day, but only to talk, and the Emperor left without hurting her, puzzling and worrying her, as an "Emperor who could talk to her, consider her, and then leave her without marking her... was a stranger." Later, while she was taking breakfast with Lisinthir, Second attempted to send him off so that the Queen could serve him; Lisinthir refused, saying that her mornings were his. Later, prompted by a complaint by Second, the Emperor visited Lisinthir and the Queen in the morning to confirm Second's report, and demanded that Lisinthir prove that he is a male by "making use" of the Queen; forced into a corner, and with the Queen's subtle encouragement, he did so in the gentlest way he could find. The Queen later told him that it had been pleasant for her to ease him. Later, when he came to her broken, she suggested that he could ease his torment by allowing the Emperor to sacrifice her; when he protested, she indicated that she had learned some of his lessons of love and sacrifice. Later, Second came to her enraged that she had been passing information to Lisinthir, and beat and raped her; it was the first time he had been violent to her. The Emperor later, again at Second's behest, came to her for more advice about Lisinthir; he did not hurt her, and acknowledged that he himself, like the Queen, was enthralled with the Ambassador.<ref name="etw-02" />

Shortly thereafter, Third and his Hand arrived with more slaves--[[Unnamed Characters#Alien Slaves of the Emperor |sixteen in all, both Pelted and human]]. The Queen, using her new mastery of Universal, explained their situation, warned them against violence or escape attempts, and sent them to the Preparation Room. After their presentation, she further explained that the Ambassador was not complacent, but had to play to the politics of the Court if he was to have any hope of success in having them freed.<ref name="etw-02" />

When she heard that the Emperor and Lisinthir had seriously injured each other, she left the Tower despite this being forbidden to her, and was escorted to the clinic to see them. She was then present when he sent Third's newly-acquired slaves back. When Third and his Hand arrived to take out their frustrations on the Imperial Harem--and Third threatened to rape the Queen herself, despite that being expressly forbidden except at the Emperor's word--she, for the first time, was successful in driving him away, and he hurt neither her not any other harem members.<ref name="etw-02" />

For a few days after Third's death, the Queen, Lisinthir, and the Emperor stayed together in her suite, having sex, both violent and not. Shortly after that, Lisinthir returned to show her messages of thanks from the slaves they had freed: a long one from Laniis, and more from others, including Bethsaida. However, the temporary peace was broken when Lisinthir came to her concerned that he had in fact convinced the Emperor to treat him as a male... and therefore, the Empire would treat the Alliance as a male to be broken, not a female to be largely ignored; she confirmed this, and they came up with a new plan.<ref name="etw-02" />

After Lisinthir convinced the Emperor to take his pattern and Change, their encounters shifted. The Emperor wanted to feel first the Queen's fear, and then to feel her suffering so he could know what it was to weep. Finally, he wanted to feel what Lisinthir had suffered through torture to see what that was like. The Queen asked permission to leave so as not to watch Lisinthir be tortured. After that, the Emperor treated her very differently: he had empathy for her and had no will to punish her even after learning that she had posed as Bethsaida. He renamed her Treasure, and the three spent days together in newfound trust and pleasure (and, for the Emperor and Lisinthir, challenge).<ref name="etw-02" />

Things finally came to a head with Second, and the Queen found Lisinthir very ill from poisoning by Second, and later learned that Second had challenged the Emperor. At the Emperor's behest, she fled to the clinic, where the Surgeon could shield her. Second was slain and the Emperor survived, and the Emperor sent Lisinthir away; she counseled him on the reasons and said her goodbyes. After, the Emperor asked her forgiveness, shocking her, and asked her to be the Queen Ransomed rather than the Slave Queen, his comfort as he was her protection; she asked him to see the sea.<ref name="etw-02" />

The Faulfenza are heavy-gravity worlders, bipedal with powerful, dense bodies, digitigrade legs, a long tail, partially prehensile and 3-4 feet in length. The tail is separated into two "bodies", a long fringe near the spine and a hairless/short-haired segment, followed by a second, long tuft. They have six digits (toes and fingers) and these toes and fingers have no nails or claws, nor toe beans. The bottoms of their feet, and the palms of their hands, are hairless.

Their faces have long, narrow muzzles with vaguely deer-like nose pads. Eyes are forward-facing with round pupils. The ears are hemispherical fans with two points that sweep back and have significant range of motion: not forward, but sideways. (Like a rolltop desk.)

The Faulfenza are furred in a tricolor pattern: one dark body color, and two accent colors, a pale (usually white or light gray or cream) and a reddish hue.

They are born with the ability to direct heat through their skin (commonly through the hands, though any body part will do, with practice), something they call the Mindfire. This is classified by the Alliance as an esper power, though the Faulfenza consider it a divine gift.

==History==
They were born to the world [[Quzen]]; a global famine was relieved by the embrace of farming technologies championed by the first Fireborn, Qufal. These technologies eventually destroyed the world's ecology. The messiah Faullaizaf was sent to lead them off Quzen and to a new home.

They later settled on the double world [[Qufiil]] and became wiser custodians of their environment. Historically, one week after their landing at [[Liiza]], [[Jiizel]] led the Faulfenza who would become the Lost Kin off the world, to return for the Faulfenza who had stayed on Quzen to sing its death dirge, and from there to go as a larger group to seek the Others of prophecy. This event is recorded in the [[Faulfenzair_Scrolls#The_Scroll_of_Leave-Taking | Scroll of Leave-Taking]].

Not long afterwards, the decision to administrate the planets differently was made, a decision overseen by Faullaizaf, and that saw the two proponents for the winning instated as the first OverDancer of the Preserve and the first WorldDancer of the Seeker's Side: Jenai and Niidza, respectively. This event is recorded in the Scroll of the Stewards.

Historically, Faulfenza names were typically "First name – name of birthplace", and if the Faulfenzair fostered on another world, and felt that site became a second home, they would ask permission to append a third name, the name of foster city/village/place. After Zafiil, fosterage/second-homes became a way to honor the Fireborn messiahs, and it is now rarer to meet someone who hadn't fostered and taken a third name than otherwise. Almost all the Faulfenza who leave Qufiil for the Alliance, or who spend significant time off-planet in other endeavors, will have third names.

The Faulfenza did not evolve on this world, but fled there after the destruction of their last world, [[Quzen]].

==Geography==
The solar system contains an asteroid belt and two small planetoids in farther orbits, both without atmosphere. The fourth planet is a gaseous one, nebulous blue and acid-green striations, and has a blue moon named the Eye of the Iifaul. Not sure how many planets total in the solar system.

Qufiil is a brightly colored, temperate double planet. This is a true double world system and will eventually tear itself apart. It is heavier, warmer, and brighter than Earth with a white star instead of yellow. It has no moon, as Quafiirla (being the smaller of the bodies) would have become its moon had it not fallen into closer orbit. The Preserve's climate is more like Quzen's; Quapendai is brighter and less humid. They share the same fauna and flora, but the specimens on Quapendai are usually smaller and not as brightly colored. There's also a permanent aurora between the two planets, which the Faulfenza claim was Faulza's mark, guiding them to this world from Quzen.

===Tidal Locking===
The worlds are tidally locked, and there are frequent earthquakes and seismic disturbances on the facing sides. The orbital period is about a day, which puts the worlds at a distance of about geosynchronous orbit. At this distance, each planet is about 300 times larger than Earth's moon, and much brighter than a full moon on earth.

The far side would look a lot like Earth's day cycle (without a moon). Very clear, dark skies.

The near side would have two nights: a long bright night after sunset (with a brief extra dark period around midnight), and a dark one at about noon, for an hour or so.

* Noon: Very dark, because the sun is eclipsed by the other planet. (Maybe even darker than night, depending on where you're standing)
* 3pm ish: The planet is at quarter phase, the sun is out of eclipse.

The grass is green with bluish tinges, making it seem lush and well-watered. Very few things are brown, or gray...the earth itself ranges in color from black to red, usually a burgundy-orange sort of color; the beaches are white, yellow, or dark red and the seas are brilliant blue to bluish-green. Plants usually sport bright green, blue, or purple leaves, and flowers are bright and of every color. The sky is blue, like ours, but usually paler.

The only House to be founded by women of separate families, Melandra Silin and Tiriana Nila. Tiriana never married, however; her brother Harathiel Nila was the one who continued their family name in a rare marriage where the male was deemed more powerful than the female who wanted him. Melandra married Alassan, who took her name, and they had nine children (!), seven female and two male, which cemented Silin as Asaniefa's powerbrokers. Even when Silin hasn't been the formal head of Asaniefa, their relations have been hip-deep in the politics of the House.

* Melandra and Alassan Silin had (in order): Gilanatha(f), Nushaelathil(f), Halueth (m), Iriamiel (f), Mirthanassa (f), Laeratha (f), Ethaniel (f), Nerelissa (f) and Lirenith (m).

On Melandra's side, Laeratha and Nerelissa went into the clergy; on Harathiel's, Naranthan went into the priesthood. All rose high in their respective hierarchies, which started a tradition of Asaniefa giving children to the church.

There are two more minor families, Thavi and Tanul, which were created at the same time and given to loyal supporters of the Nila family. They hold the narrow western border that abutted [[House Imthereli|Imthereli lands]]; the Thavi are on the souther border with 550 people, and the Thanul the northern border with 400 people. They were given matching crests, the centicore sejant (sitting, to symbolize their obedience to the ruling family of Asaniefa); the Thavi centicore is to dexter, sejant, and the Tanul centicore is to sinister, sejant erect.

===History===
Asaniefa is interesting that many of its families were created by males in the House who wanted to establish family names of their own. Sometimes this worked out well, as when Harathiel Nila's son Coralan started Osin, which would become the second most successful family in Asaniefa; sometimes it works out horribly, as when his son started Irys, and then drove it into the ground within a generation, impoverishing the family. Silin's fecundity guaranteed that it would end up the premier family in Asaniefa, something that Nila might have been resigned to had they not been overtaken by their own scion's creation; when Coralan offered to take over the management of the coastline from Nila (whose lands used to extend from central Asaniefa to the coast), it was assumed that it would remain a difficult proposition, particularly since it was hard to find the monsters amid the terrain. But Coralan waged a successful war against the monsters, and his management skills were so good that he made a going concern of what was assumed to be a uselessly rocky coast. He ended up taking over more and more of Nila until he'd pushed his parents' family into central Asaniefa.

Feelings were mixed about this; Harathiel, Coralan's father, was proud of him, as might be expected of the male of the pair. His mother was angry, since territory translated into power at court, where she spent most of her time.

Asaniefa was disbanded after the coup, and the nobles that weren't killed were demoted to the tenantry and scattered into other Houses' lands. "Scattering Asaniefa shocked the remaining Houses antagonistic to Liolesa’s aims into wary retreat, but did not dissuade them from their views. Begun by Harathiel Nila's second son Coralan, who wanted to establish his own family line. He married Nushaelathil Silin, the second daughter of Melandra Silin, who by then could see the writing on the wall and didn't want to be one of a sea of Silin girls. Being the matriarch of a new family seemed a far better proposition.

The Osin tenant village looks "a lot like" the ones Sediryl grew up seeing. There's a town center, with buildings around it, and a community garden. There are 41 people in this village, and they did not leave when Asaniefa was disbanded. They are led by Othise Mara Osin, and are stubbornly independent. They still take care of their clothes, patchwork as it is, and put ribbons in their hair.

Eren is the man who showed Jahir around to the various villagers to check their health.

After the events leading up to Sediryl's investiture, the villagers acquire:
* 2 roosters and 6 hens
* seeds for onions, peppers, sweet potatoes, squashes, beans
* a data tablet (for Othise)
* a public information kiosk <ref>Farmer's Crown, Chapter 4</ref>

Two died during the chimera and basilisk attack, which would put the count down to 39. Two were seriously injured (one was being eaten alive!) but both were saved by the efforts of the personnel at Shield General. Several more were wounded, but were treated on site. <ref>Farmer's Crown, Chapter 9</ref> After the attack, they also acquire:

The Silin tenant village is a lovely hamlet, with its houses built around a gently flowing river. Many of the homes have walls that fall straight into the water, with windows above them that can be opened on the sounds of the water flowing past. The greensward that serves as the town center is split by that small river, with a stone bridge broad and flat enough for picnics. The people, though very few, are well-fed and healthy.

This is one of the three Asaniefa villages that didn't decamp with the destruction of the Asaniefa House. <ref>Farmer's Crown, Chapter 6</ref>

The only House to be founded by women of separate families, Melandra Silin and Tiriana Nila. Tiriana never married, however; her brother Harathiel Nila was the one who continued their family name in a rare marriage where the male was deemed more powerful than the female who wanted him. Melandra married Alassan, who took her name, and they had nine children (!), seven female and two male, which cemented Silin as Asaniefa's powerbrokers. Even when Silin hasn't been the formal head of Asaniefa, their relations have been hip-deep in the politics of the House.

* Melandra and Alassan Silin had (in order): Gilanatha(f), Nushaelathil(f), Halueth (m), Iriamiel (f), Mirthanassa (f), Laeratha (f), Ethaniel (f), Nerelissa (f) and Lirenith (m).

There is some intermarriage between these two women's families; Coralan started Osin with Nushaelathil; and Iriamiel, the third daughter, married Onaeron Nila, the third son of Harathiel (a union that produced [[Surela]] before Iriamiel's untimely death in childbed, rendering Surela an only child with a very jaundiced view of breeding).

On Melandra's side, Laeratha and Nerelissa went into the clergy; on Harathiel's, Naranthan went into the priesthood. All rose high in their respective hierarchies, which started a tradition of Asaniefa giving children to the church.

Asaniefa is interesting that many of its families were created by males in the House who wanted to establish family names of their own. Sometimes this worked out well, as when Harathiel Nila's son Coralan started Osin, which would become the second most successful family in Asaniefa; sometimes it works out horribly, as when his son started Irys, and then drove it into the ground within a generation, impoverishing the family.

Asaniefa was disbanded after the coup, and the nobles that weren't killed were demoted to the tenantry and scattered into other Houses' lands. "Scattering Asaniefa shocked the remaining Houses antagonistic to Liolesa’s aims into wary retreat, but did not dissuade them from their views. Asaniefa is known for its unusually pure green eyes (which were probably engineered initially by the first settlers, because green eyes are rare in humans too, at only 2% of the population). At some point I said Kirthander had Asaniefa's "green eyes" (find ref).

There are several Asaniefa green strains, from rarest to most common

* If more than one character has shared a title in the series (on camera), then there needs to be a separate page for the title that explains it and links to all the characters who've served as that title.

So, for instance, there have been three Seconds on camera, so we need a '''Second (Title)''' page that links to all three. == Creating a Redirect ==

If you move a page and don't delete the page it came from (see [[#Renaming Pages/Categories (aka Moving Pages)]]) it will automatically create a redirect unless you tell it not to. If you want to manually create a redirect on a new or empty page without moving it, you can do so by adding the following text to the page top of the page: #REDIRECT [[Destination Page]]. For example, if someone creates a page for Uenuevin, and you want to redirect it to Emperor Kauvauc Ueneuvin rather than deleting it outright, you could do so by putting #REDIRECT [[Emperor Kauvauc Uenuevin]] on the Uenuevin page. Note that the redirect command must be on the first line of the page; it won't do anything if put elsewhere.

You can upload any appropriate image you have permission to use. I've been using the following naming conventions:
* Covers: Cover-NameofStory-edition.jpg (or png). So "Cover-Second-secondedition.jpg" is the second edition cover for the Second story.
* Maps: Map-placename.jpg. "Map-Ontine.jpg"
* Other pictures: Illo-NameofThing.jpg. (Short for "illustration"). So "Illo-Kerinne.jpg"

== Renaming Pages/Categories (aka Moving Pages) ==

Technically, you can't actually rename a page or category, but in practice you can, it just takes a few steps. What you are essentially doing is (optionally) moving the existing contents of the page/category (including categories to which it belongs, in the case of pages and subcategories) to a new page with a new name, and then deleting the old category. If you are 'renaming' a category that has already had pages added to it, you (unfortunately) have to then manually fix the subpages (or at least if there's a way to automate that, I haven't found it yet).

Here is how you do it:

# Go to the page or category that you want to fix. For example, if someone made the page or category "Hroses" and you want to fix the typo to Horses, you would go to the "Hroses" page or category.
# In the upper right of the page, Select '''More''' and then '''Move'''. This will take you to the '''Move''' page.
# On the '''Move''' page, select a namespace. This will default to the namespace of the thing you're moving, so if you're moving a page it will be '''(Main)''', if you're moving a category it will be '''Category''', and so on. Usually you will want to leave this alone and not touch it unless you're doing something complicated.
# Next to the namespace, type the new name. In the above example, you would type "Horses."<br /> '''Important''': If the page you are moving to already exists, the move will overwrite the destination page with the source page. This means that if the page already exists and you don't want to overwrite it--i.e., if Horses already existed and had useful content--you would not want to move the page. In this case, copy any existing text that you want to keep from the Source page (Hroses) and then manually add it to Horses (if there isn't any, this obviously isn't necessary). Then skip to step 7 to delete the misnamed page. (This isn't a huge deal as moves can be undone, and the wiki will warn you if you try, but it's worth bearing in mind.)

After that, Rayne adopted three human children: the young [[Ria]] and [[Patrick (Rayne's son) |Patrick]], and the adolescent [[Jomo]], as well as a [[Dogs | dog]] named Goldie, a marshound. Nearly ten years after their separation, Rayne sought out Carevei again to be her companion and co-parent, not as a lover or romantic partner but as a beloved friend.

Rayne married Jack, but later divorced when they discovered that she could not physically bear children. She then adopted three human children--the twins seven at the time that she reconnected with Carevei, and Jomo fifteen--for her own reasons: “I adopted humans. It was my way of saying I wasn’t going to let that pathology determine my choices, or my destiny.” She later sought out her friend Carevei on Ciaracaa, and the two reconnected as friends and agreed to share time between [[Tam-ley]] and the [[Lifehawk Tribe]].

These villagers, in the sole remaining village, moved south when Lisinthir's father married his mother, and were absorbed into Nase Galare. <ref name="hw-11" />

==Geography==
Reminds the Chatcaava of the Preserve in the Twelveworld. The hunting lodge that comprises its sole remaining property is in a mountain valley, with more mountains blocking the horizon. The climate is cooler than at Ontine, more reminiscent of Laisrathera/Firilith, with more luminous light. It smells spicy and resinous, "like incense before it was desiccated into a stick." There was once a castle, but it has since tumbled to stones worn by wind and moss.<ref name="hw-11" />

The hunting box is modest--by Eldritch standards--and is left with little furniture, and smells like citrus and the warm scent of wood. It has wooden floors, wooden paneling up half the walls, and wallpaper to the coffered ceilings. The upper floors are empty, and similar in size; the ground floor's chambers are more varied in style, though also mostly empty. The kitchen is a large room in the back of the house, with attached larder and dining hall. One room has a vaulted ceiling painted with a hunting scene: many Eldritch males astride horses with frothing mouths, rushing over a field after a large scaled animal with horns. This creature looks like the wingless drake that was once portrayed on the Imthereli crest.<ref name="hw-11" />

For the baptism, Lisinthir's [[Laisrathera (House) |northern neighbors]] took one day to erect an outdoor chapel in a copse near the chalet. Catha holds the southernmost coast of the Galare territories, with Jesa and Delen claiming the northern coastline. The coast in the Catha territory is a series of high cliffs that slopes downward at its southern border, where a tenant village abandoned by the nobles has continued to fish with very little oversight. The more prosperous branches of the Catha family are inland, near the borders of Jesa and Emil, and in particular their proximity to the capital has served them in terms of acquiring power and influence.
