Velederien Solvi Mathanith

Biography

A member of the chimera hunting party, and one of Tolden's friends. He was the one listening to the more sordid rumors about Lisinthir being in bed with dragons (but was forthright enough to ask about it). He is, however, the uncertain one, who is also easily discombobulated. At the conclusion of the combined Chatcaavan/Eldritch hunting trip, said that as their guests the Chatcaava should receive the pelts. Mathanith's "heir shuffle" happened during his lifetime and has made him sensitive to scandal, particularly because he thought it admirable that the Mathanith had supplied the Chancellorship... that Delerenenard no longer has anything to do with his extended House because of their shenanigans upsets him. He wants to be above reproach.

After visiting the Chatcaavan Throneworld in Tolden's retinue, Velederien returned to Escutcheon and decided to stay there and take a more traditional tack than his friends, two of whom joined the Eldritch Navy, one of whom decided to go off world for engineering, and the last of which (Tolden) who chose to become one of Imthereli's newest families. "“I want… I want a quieter life than any of you. One without scandal. And with a wife and children and a tidy place to call our own." When his friends tease him that a life without scandal is unlikely, Tolden takes them to task: "He’s right. There are new opportunities available, but that doesn’t make the old ones inappropriate if they suit a person better."
