==Biography==
Born noble but poor of the [[Irys (Eldritch Family) | Irys family]], Thaniet was raised from "regrettable circumstance" by Surela to be her lady-in-waiting, an act for which she was forever grateful. <ref name="rp-03">''[[Rose Point (Fiction) | Rose Point]]'', Part 3</ref>
She was considered too meek to disagree with her on any topic of importance.  She wore the pin of Asaniefa's silvery hooved lion on green. Thaniet served as Surela's lady's maid, as Surela preferred her touch to anyone else's; after the coup, Thaniet insisted that Surela deserved a dedicated lady's maid, but Surela wouldn't hear of it: "A dedicated lady's maid wouldn't be you." <ref name="lais-05">''[[Laisrathera (Fiction) | Laisrathera]]'', Chapter 5</ref>They spoke only in silver and gold mode together. 

Thaniet died after being raped and tortured by the Chatcaavan invited to the world by [[Baniel Sarel Jisiensire]]. She dragged herself to Surela's quarters and let her know that Baniel, Athanesin, and the Chatcaavan were working against her. <ref name="lais-12">''[[Laisrathera (Fiction) | Laisrathera]]'', Chapter 12</ref> She died in Surela's arms and the servants of Ontine buried her. Surela's final words before the servants bore her away were: "Go you to the Goddess, and forget all the suffering you knew here. And forgive me."<ref name="lais-12" />
