The Scythe is Kamaney Foster and Pwyll Mansey's pirate vessel that harassed Gledig.

Amenities and Technology

The Scythe is overpowered through jury-rigging, but manages this in part by stealing energy from other parts of the ship; thus, the ship's living areas are cold.

Pwyll had it retrofitted with six new hatches in the belly and two more in the prow and stern, fitted with nuclear 'hedgehog' missiles. This was done because Fleet ships and Fleet tactics do not assume the use of physical munitions.

Crew Culture

Unsurprisingly for a pirate ship, the culture is all about strength: who can keep control and what they can offer those beneath them. If the crew believes that their leadership could be making them more money and aren't, they will mutiny without a second thought.

History/Commissioning/Achievements

The Scythe was initially paid off by Brad Courtland to initiate pirate raids on the planet in the hopes of attracting Fleet attention to terrorize Gledig. Though Courtland's initial request specified not taking slaves, Kamaney and the pirates ultimately found that this did not net them enough profit, and began the taking of slaves, though not initially at Gledig.
