"Not even the frequent sight of cities like Liiza could have prepared Zafiil for the experience of walking its byways, beneath the awnings of its buildings with their facades of aquamarine glass or red-orange metal. The Faulfenza were a people who loved motion, and the paths had been designed to swirl into the city center, around sculpted hills and parks and buildings curved like fans. Shops of every description occupied the lowermost parcels, and the people! Had she thought the crowd in Qodii large at night, around the Dancing-Place?
