Hood is the senior of the Platies on the UAV Songlance, and in charge of navigation.
Physical Characteristics
Hood is an enormous, dark presence, as large as a Recurve-class shuttle, "like an enormous curtain, one large enough for a theater."[1] He inspires awe in [1] and, later Mike Beringwaite.[2]

Trivia
- Hood sleeps in one of the water environment's tunnels, rolled up to sleep as if in a hammock. Sometimes the Naysha sleep in the tunnel with him, "like sleeping in someone's arms."[4]
