Algae, or Al, is a Platy in the navigation section of the UAV Songlance.
Physical Characteristics
Al is dark green with an iridescent edge.[1] When Alysha Forrest first met it on the Songlance, it was a small, female Platy, but over the duration of her stay, Hood chose it to catalyze into a larger male; as Algae grew, it changed from an even velvety dark green to a splotchy pattern of lighter green and mottled black. Within a short period of time, Algae grew to twice the size of his former companions,[2], and then to longer than Alysha Forrest's body.[3]

Algae serves in the navigation section of the UAV Songlance, along with the Naysha crew and the other Platies: Nighttime, Pinky, and Hood.[1]
