Because I drew pictures of different closures for tail pants, so.

Historical Periods

Apparently there are fashion historical periods as well. From Rosettes and Ribbons:[1]

Five years ago ambassadorial parties, high-society functions and balls had swept back into fashion with such fervor some historians had immediately proclaimed the renaissance of the Romantic Era. Sheath dresses returned to haute couture, exemplified by models like Silhouette, the mysterious Tam-illee with her slender, lily-like figure...leaving all the digitigrade races, and especially the stockier ones like the Seersa and their sister-race the Karaka'A in dismay. The beauty of sheath dresses laid in the elegant straight line they made of a figure, one impossible to create with thighs jutting out at impossible-to-hide angles.
The dismay lasted until a prominently known Karaka'An Fleet Captain arrived at a function held by Ambassador Jaimetharrl Darksoot in a sheath dress slit all the way up the skirt to her hips on both sides to allow her to walk freely. Since then, slit-sheathes for digitigrade races had become the rage, and even the plantigrade females took to slitting their dresses for novelty.

Technology

Use of solidigraphs in fashion.

Faces

  • face paint
  • ear tattoos/paint; can also involve pasted on gemstones [2]

Eye Films

Illo-eyefilm.jpg

Eye films are overlaid on the eye, and completely obscure its original color. They can be activated or deactivated by placing a finger over the pupil and pressing twice; the dye will fade almost immediately.[3] Medical experts and those who know what to look for can tell that someone's eye has been filmed, whether or not the film is active.[4]

There are also tempfilms whose nature is not well-defined.[5]

Fur, Skin, and Hair

Pelted range from having skin like a human's, without fur, through various lengths of pelt, to relatively thick fur; their hair can be mane-like or more like human head hair. Fur and hair can be dyed, or colored or patterned using a projection or domino; skin can also be painted or modified with a projection or domino. Fur may also be trimmed to a desired length, or have patterns shaved in it, and both fur and hair may be beaded. Pelted wear a variety of hairstyles, depending on the type and texture of their hair, and stasis pins or combs are used for holding hairstyles securely in place.[6][7]

When fur-bearing Pelted wear fitted clothing for too long, especially if they are sweating, the fabric can work it into strange patterns.[8]

Bodies

examples of pant closures
  • nail/claw painting
  • claw rings
  • closures for tunics
  • footwear for digitigrade folks
  • cloaks rather than coats (also reflected in Fleet Uniforms.[3]
  • leggings, blouse, and split tunic (or surcoat) is regarded as "straight out of a fashion magazine in the Core."[5]
  • Gledig colony fashion for adult women is woolen skirt, blouse, and apron.[9]

Tails

  • socks
  • discipline rings
    • used primarily to help awareness of the positioning of the tail; consists of two rings, one of which is near the tip of the tail and will fall off if the tail position becomes lax or out of control. Children often use discipline rings to teach them not to lose control of their tails and bang into or break things.

Wings

  • wing painting
  • wing beading
  • projections
  • vane cutting (for the extreme)

Cosmetics and Personal Grooming Items

Specific items:

Showers can be set for a variety of temperatures and styles (for example, directional, rainfall, drizzle, waterfall, hurricane, fog, suds fight, etc.)[6][11] Shower cubes have an automatic dry cycle, but towels may be faster in a hurry.[8]

Perfume

  • There is apparently a perfume-maker named Arras Windfall. [1]

Use of Dominoes

See Dominoes and Roquelaures.

Local Fashion

Gledig Colony

Due presumably to Gledig's relatively cool climate, trends include coats (rather than the cloaks that are perennially fashionable in the Alliance) and scarves, sometimes worn over the head.[3][12] Women also wear long woolen skirts and dresses.[9] Elected representatives wear stoles.[13]
