Quotes

• “Every time we leave your world, alet, we choose a different route, and those choices are partly random, and partly personal, and partly based on weather conditions and the volume of traffic at the time. This, too, is part of the Veil, and it has been the primary work of the Queen’s Tams since Sydnie’s daughter became the first Navigatrix. We keep you safe. As safe as possible, anyway.”
• “Alet, if you leaned on me for one day, you’d be tempted to lean on me forever. If you want to thrive, you need to jump off that cliff and grow your wings on the way down.”
