A young male Chatcaava. Son of the Emperor; bold in demeanor. Best friends with Whisper, his half-brother. Was one of the founding members of Hope's Navy.

The Emperor's oldest male child; he is 11 revolutions old at the time of the Insurrection. [1] He defended the Mother from the Queen Ransomed when she appeared for the first time in the Nursery: "If you hurt her, I will hurt you! I am a male, and you only female! Even if I am young, I can have you punished!" [2] He was initially shocked by the sight of the Queen Changing, but afterwards he was wary and fascinated.[3] When the Queen assigns him the task of teaching everyone to read, female sisters and female slave nursemaids alike, he says, tentatively, that "it would be fun."[3]
