- Feminic and Masculic: terms for ships that have all male or all female crew.
- Hitch: is a tractor beam
- Scales: nickname for body armor
- Moths: any contact not yet assigned an ID[1]
Names for things used by Fleet personnel.
Stuff like 'moths' for unidentified contacts, and the T&S List (Threats and Suspicious).
Also organizational and factional slang, like the 'pony saddles.' And 'The Old and Proud.'
Slang like 'gone ground' for someone who's turned native, or fled to a planet.
"Star-and-pierced" for graduated from Fleet Academe (I presume, anyway)[2]
