This page should be linked under languages, since it's jargon.

  • Feminic and Masculic: terms for ships that have all male or all female crew.
  • Hitch: is a tractor beam[1]
  • Scales: nickname for body armor
  • Moths: any contact not yet assigned an ID[2]
  • Pony saddle: not precisely a Fleet term, but the term that the Terran Space Navy uses for the to-them-strange system of officer commissions in Fleet.[3]
  • Old and Proud: humans who are proud of their heritage and origins (and often also disaffected and bitter about their place relative to the Pelted in Fleet and the Alliance)[4]
  • "Star-and-pierced:" Someone who has graduated from Fleet Academe (I presume, anyway)[5]

I'm also going to stick specific roles (roles, as opposed to ranks) here for lack of a significantly better place to put them; they can become their own page or go on another place or something eventually:

  • New Officer Training Coordinator (NOTC): The officer on a ship who is responsible for training and orientation for newly-assigned officers.[3]
  • Liason: As in, "liaison to the aliens." The officer who is responsible for communication and coordination with allied aliens onboard, such as Flitzbe and Platies.[3]

Names for things used by Fleet personnel.

The T&S List (Threats and Suspicious).
