International

These are crimes that are perpetrated across national borders (so between the Alliance and other empires, or rogue states).

Raiding

• The Chatcaavan Empire breaks border treaties and raids colonies for resources when it suits them. These operations are coordinated by Third and his Hand at the behest of the Emperor, and were one of Lisinthir Nase Galare's

Fur Trade

Started by Kamaney Foster as far as I can tell, she was the only buyer. Should have died out after her death. The pirates seem to have begun before she joined them, but she ended up as the pirate queen for a while. As such, scary.

Slave Trade

Chatcaavan slave trade:

• Chatcaava acquire Alliance slaves when they can, but many of their slaves are not obtained by the Chatcaava directly but by purchasing or otherwise acquiring them from independent pirates.
• Many male slaves are interrogated and then killed, while females and interesting or pretty males are kept as slaves in the Imperial Harem.

Internal

• Forbade a D-per from some actions
• Amended after the Sargasso incident.

Illegal Technology

• It is illegal to build autonomous robots (in the sense of capable of autonomous action).

Illegal Weapons

• Claw-knives are banned across most of the Alliance, as the early Pelted did not want to grant their own natural weaponry to humans.

Controlled/Illegal Substances

• Wet, a highly addictive substance which causes brains to destroy themselves
• Hekkret, a barbiturate (and poison) originally from the Chatcaavan Empire
