Blackspace Class Freighter

A type of large freighter designed for hauling primarily cargo that does not require air. Ninety-five percent of the compartments are depressurized, essentially all the space except for crew quarters. Blackspace freighters may appear to be "a collection of vast spindles and containers, strung together with precariously thin cranes and cables." The pressurized areas appear as bulbs. On at least one such freighter, the person in command is referred to not as captain, but as headmaster. [1]
