Cradle System
This is the official name of the solar system containing the Eldritch homeworld. (Registered by them with the Alliance by its Eldren name, "Vuna", cradle.) Naturally, the Universal word stuck for most of the charts.
I don't have a name for the Sector it's in. I should make one up once I figure out how many greek letters I ran through before I gave up and started naming sectors in Hebrew.
Astrogeography
This is stuff like the asteroid belt, etc.
- Escutcheon
- The moon with the thing on it.
- The sun
- The asteroid belt
- There is a 'farthest planet' that is developing a military base (but which is only a few temporary construction domes at the time of Uuvek's hire).[1]
Manmade
- Elements of a system defense
- There are also now several small mining stations (and a manufacturing platform[1]) in the asteroid belt, according to Dragons' Fealty. Maybe decide on the number.
Aliens' Row
The space station in orbit that Lesandurel brought the builder-wrecker to form the core of had a lot of nicknames (including Meriaen's dower and the Tams' liege-gift), but the nickname that stuck is "Aliens' Row" (referring to the Nobles' Row in the capital). It has a formal name that no one uses.
Has annexes. "The result looked very much like any other Alliance installa- tion, except that one of the arches leading to the main docking facility had been ornamented by a relief depicting heraldic animals cavorting through a forest. Who had arranged that? And how had it been carved? Were they plan- ning to undertake the decoration of the entire station? Sediryl struggled to picture it. Marble floors over the deck- ing, maybe? Murals on the ceilings? Was it possible to create a space station as baroque as an Eldritch palace, or would doing so interfere with some vital functionality?"[2]
Has a cafe facing the annex set aside for the navy (which experimented with a mostly foam kerinne version named for the Eldritch word for foam, fiathsa).[2]
Almost Farthest Wing
This is a place where ships land near Ontine, and the name was Liolesa's joke. Except now it's a starport.
Prior to Healer's Wedding: "Descending carefully from the jay, she found herself on a flat pad—paved, surely, but of what material she could not say. Nor could she have described what the building alongside it was constructed of, save that it was sleek and large and even shrouded by trees she recognized it manifestly did not belong here. But at the edge of this alien courtyard was an entirely normal stable, and as she watched an Eldritch youth led a palfrey out of it, already saddled." [3]
After the War: "...what had once been a flat crete pad with a hangar, a stable, and a small parlor and was now a complex worthy of a better name. A bustling complex, with multiple buildings, passengers coming and going, and a lot of uniforms. The new military was staging out of this facility, which was already on its way to becoming the Eldritch’s first formal starport. It even had gates, though they weren’t as developed as they would one day be, and most people were simply using the Pad to walk up to the new orbital station." [4]
Outermost Wing
Pretty sure this is the moon station in the Eldritch system. Also called the Farthest Wing. Crewed by Tams. Destroyed by pirates during the coup, [5] rebuilt later. There might be a name for the space station that might resemble this or Farthest Wing.
Not to be confused with Almost Farthest Wing, which is the landing pad near Ontine.
It was Lesandurel Meriaen Jisiensire who brought the materiel to build Escutcheon's first orbital station, and to improve and enlarge the moon base.
