Sigrdrifa
Bryer's mate, a Phoenix Bride.
Appearance and Personality
Known originally as the singer of the song of resolve, and named by a human coworker (Paloma) after one of the fabled Valkyrie, Sigrdrifa is curious, determined, and indomitable.
In appearance, one of the rare "fancy" Phoenix, her feathers are not metallic, and she lacks full wings. Her tail is unusually full and peacock-like, and her crest and wing plumes (what she has of them) are downy, soft, and decorative. In coloration, a white with cream hints, with blue eyes.
Biography
Despite her inability to fly, she chose to undergo the training to become a harrier Bride candidate and succeeded through cleverness and resolve. At the completion of this training, she chose not to remain at the rookery, but left with her maid to go work on an orbital station around Phoenix-Nest, with a human team of weather specialists. When Bryer became a fulfilled harrier and sent a call, she came to Escutcheon and won him in the contests, and has stayed on as his mate on Escutcheon with her maid, Reginleif, and one of the failed Bride candidates, singer of the song of blossoms opening, and that bride's maid.[1]
She has give four covert feathers to Eldritch fishermen in return for an afternoon's singing together. (They gave her a fish.)
