Summary
Pelipenele is studying the xeno-anthropology. But she finds another, Du'er, interested in what she does. That male gives her a token, she does not know that it symbols that she is interested in him. His mate sees, and challenges Pel to a dual that Pel will die in. He has described her as having a pure white fur, she pulls off enough of her shirt to show a rosette in her front fur, one that any intimate could not have missed, giving him to be a liar and saving her life. His motivation was to dump his future wife, either by having her killed or by exile or by other means.
