340 days to a year, 85 days to a season, 21 days per month, 2 weeks to a month, 4 months per season, with a "leap week" of 4 days in mid-summer.
Weeks are ten days long (giving 34 weeks a year); the first five days are known as "up-week" and the last five as "down-week."
History
The first planet the Pelted settled, ending the Exodus, in 2470 (one year prior to the signing of the Accords that formed the Alliance). Karaka'Ana was settled the same year, but Seersana was the first touchdown site.
Geography
Has a 'western' continent, which presumes there's an eastern one.[1] Has a longer day than Selnor, but "not by much." [2]
Major Cities
- Kavakell (Capital)
- Seersana University
- Performing Arts Center (which has a smaller theater known as the Stringleigh Center); this downtown concert hall is a "sweep of silver walls and vast black windows" on the top floor of one of the capital's tallest buildings. "The glass is so clear there seems no interruption between plush wine-colored carpet and the night sky." This center is home to the Kavakell Symphony Orchestra. [1]
- "esteemed shopping district," with shingled rooves, pastel paint jobs, and surrounded in flowering trees that are artificially maintained in winter [3]
- many restaurants: "tiny family restaurants maintained by generations of Seersa", "fancy restaurants with transparent floors set over fish ponds" [1]
- historic districts, with museums[1]
- Landing Park: where the Seersa first touched down, with crete pawprints on the lawn where the first individuals had walked, and a reproduction of the shuttle used to reach the surface from the sleeper ships that carried the Pelted away from the Exodus[1]
Public Transportation
People movers as well as Pad stations[1]
Landmarks
- Spindle Tree National Park (on the other side of the world from the university)[4]
- "amazing parks", including one on the western continent where the wind shaped rocks into natural flutes [1]
- Lighthouse by the sea, converted into a bed and breakfast where the innkeepers tell spooky stories and then use props to simulate a monster in the ocean at night (with the help of a Naysha)[5]
