History
The Meriaen branch of the Jisiensires was never very fruitful.
Lesandurel, who went to Earth, where he met Sydnie (then) Unfound, went on to purchase a residence on Terra and build a life there amid Sydnie's descendents. These Tam-illee went on to supply the Eldritch Queen with the Tam-illee she would take into her service as the Queen's Tams, and while not every Meriaen Tam is a Queen's Tam, every Queen's Tam is a Meriaen (or was, up until the ending of the Veil).
Religion
The Eldritch Meriaen continue to swear by the Eldritch religion. The Meriaen Tams are 40/30/30 split between the major Tam religion (Iley), or conversion to the Eldritch religion, or to one of the Terran sects of Christianity (because Lesandurel met Sydnie at a Christmas party, and the Tams have made a habit of reprising that party annually). The Tam-illee who swear to Eldritch gods tend to be those interacting more often with the Eldritch (mostly among the Queen's Tams), and some number of them will call on both religions.
Assets
Because of Lesandurel's aggressive management of the money allotted to him, both through Jisiensire and as a gift from Maraesa and later Liolesa for his service off-world, the Meriaen fortune is enormous. ("Nine generations of investment off-world can accrue a great deal of money. I'd be surprised if your cousin is penniless even now."[1]) Lesandurel alternated between building up existing businesses, land speculation, and buying failing businesses to see if he could turn them around. He has a stock portfolio ("modest" in his opinion), and existing money earning interest in various Terran banks.
The known Meriaen assets (by which we mean, Lesandurel's):
- A strip of the Kuiper belt (and a mansion on one of the asteroids).
- Several shipping businesses
- At least one ship-building business
