Recent History

Pwyll was an officer on the UAV Voidsong, and lover of Kamaney Foster. He was brought up on charges ostensibly for fraternization, but really to cover the corruption of his superior officer Baerut Flait, who had been taking bribes from Governor Kerenkev to ignore Gledig's distress, and who framed Pwyll and Kamaney to hide his crimes. In the aftermath, he was approached by Brad Courtland, who paid him off to initiate pirate raids on the planet in the hopes of attracting Fleet attention, resulting in Pwyll and Kamaney purchasing and equipping the Scythe to terrorize Gledig. Though Courtland's initial request specified not taking slaves, Kamaney and the pirates ultimately found that this did not net them enough profit, and began the taking of slaves.

Pwyll was responsible for retrofitting the Scythe with "hedgehogs," physical missiles with a nuclear payload that could surprise a Fleet ship not used to energy weapons (though not take out a ship as large as a battlecruiser).

When Pwyll realized that throwing in is lot with Kamaney meant a future of unfettered piracy, he elected to attack the UAV Stardancer, knowing that he and the ship would be destroyed, stranding Kamaney on Gledig. Before he died, he sent an informational buoy explaining his role in the tragedy.
