Horses

An extremely attractive and expensive stompy animal with flowing mane and tail. Loved by the Eldritch and on Kerayle.

Biological Horses

• Penny, Reese's horse imported from Kerayle. She's a chestnut mare, specially bred/engineered to be docile, but she's also an unrepentant beggar. Her name comes from a Martian superstition that if you find a Terran penny, you should keep it, because then you'll never be poor.
• Iecuriel, a black-coated stallion whose name translates to "Steadfast" (with some possibly-salacious subtext), a horse from Kerayle who Reese gave to Hirianthial.
• Eiluionase ("silvered Beauty"), a horse from Kerayle who Reese Eddings gave to Shoran Dern Eddings. She is a rabicano mare, a brownish horse that looks like she has been frosted in white.
• Bright the Moon, a Seni Galare mare who had a foal (male) during Mindtouch; a native Eldritch horse. Jeasa Seni Galare wrote to her son Jahir to tell him that she had successfully foaled.
• Dart, Lisinthir's horse when he was a young man, prior to going to court; a native Eldritch horse.
• Kumiss, an all-white "king among stallions" and a strong personality; the star of Kerayle's breeding stock. Named after the beverage.
• Lesandurel Meriaen Jisiensire has a stable of horses on Earth, at least partially cared for by some of his Tam-illee family, who have thereby learned horsemanship.
• Forget-Me-Not (also known as Olaser), a brown mare of indeterminate breed, bought by the Chatcaava for the Attendant. One of the results of the Eldritch attempting to fix the genetic flaws in their native horses in a push to develop a specific Eldritch breed.
• Liolesa's vassal gift from Reese was a perlino mare.

Solidigraphic Horses

Most solidigraphic horses provide an unsatisfactory riding experience for knowledgeable horsepeople, though there are exceptions.
