Black Rose Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Harem member Female Implied that she has a 'planet of origin' and a 'hatred of' the Queen. One of the four harem members used to distract Third and Third's Hand in Even the Wingless, along with Moon, Firemint, and Sun's Kindness, due in part to her enjoyment of pain. The Mother selected her, and the Queen appealed to her pride by noting that only the most enticing females could do the duty she asked of them. She was stationed in the Queen's Suite with Moon, and distracted Third.[1]
Bodyguard Escutcheon, Laisrathera lands, Rose Point Bodyguard to Lunet Silin Eddings Male A Chatcaavan guard appointed to guard Lunet Silin Eddings by the Queen Ransomed. Allowed the Breath of the Living Air to decide whether he wanted a title or to be known by his name, so she titled him, much to his delight... because 'Bodyguard' is an entirely new title with new duties. He is learning Universal.[2] His previous job was guarding the imperial nursery, and he is explicitly tasked with guarding Lunet.[3] Dotes on Lunet.[4] Gallery

Dapple Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Harem member Female. Dapple is named for the spatter of light spots on her bronze hide. [5] One of the first harem members to show interest in Solanth Catha Galare's tablet, and maintained that interest thoroughly. She showed interest in dyes and how they were made, asked Solanth for stories, and was interested in re-creating historical dances performed by four-armed females.[5]
Emerald, the Mother Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Mother Female. The Chatcaavan female in the Imperial Harem who was pregnant and gave birth during the timeframe when Lisinthir Nase Galare was Alliance Ambassador ad'Chatcaava.[6] She likes children. [7] Gallery
Emperor Kauvauc Ueneuvin Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Emperor of the Chatcaava Male. The current Chatcaavan Emperor, partner of the Queen Ransomed and Lisinthir Lauvet Imthereli. Gallery
Everdawn Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Physician's assistant Male, castrate. Oviin's friend, a castrate who became a physician's assistant. Gallery
Firemint Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Harem member Female.
Firestorm's Heir Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Male. A Chatcaavan male who shredded the Alliance flag on Lisinthir Nase Galare's balcony. Lisinthir sought justice via Second; at supper on the Field, Firestorm's Heir admitted his guilt and attempted to evade the Emperor's justice, a right of the Heir. However, since he had a brother, the Emperor rejected that claim and offered him the choice between fight and execution. The Heir chose to fight, and was killed by the Emperor.[1]
Flower Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Harem member Female Third and Third's Hand were given leave by the Emperor to torture her to death as reward for securing new alien slaves, especially Bethsaida Emil Galare. They selected her despite her not being one of the harem members who was drawn to pain.[1] The piece of jewelry the Queen saved from her death was a ring, a slim thread of braided silver. This was the first death marker the Queen had received in two years ("The deaths had slackened as the seasons passed and the petty kings had bowed their heads to the Emperor's clawed foot"). She died in the evening. [1]
Gale Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Male. A young male Chatcaava. Son of the Emperor; bold in demeanor. Best friends with Whisper, his half-brother. Was one of the founding members of Hope's Navy. Gallery
Garnet Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Harem member Female
Golden Akana Ris Servant, formerly Female Former Chatcaavan servant who escaped with Tristan Liferiver and his family, who oversaw the servant children; smuggled out three of the children when they ran.[8] Gallery
Hautsuun, the Knife Knife Male. The Worldlord's second son, who was Reserve-East, the head of the Eastern Naval Reserve, and is now the Knife. Gallery
Hope Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Female, winged. The Queen Ransomed's first child, a shapeshifting winged daughter by the Emperor. Gallery

Manufactory-East Male. He is sadistic, ugly, and dead. Serves him right. Gallery
Moon Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Harem member Glowing silver eyes. [10] Implied that she has a 'planet of origin' and a 'hatred of' the Queen. She was one of the four harem members used to distract Third-Who-Was and Third's Hand in Even the Wingless, along with Black Rose, Firemint, and Sun's Kindness, due in part to her enjoyment of pain. The Mother selected her, and the Queen appealed to her pride by noting that only the most enticing females could do the duty she asked of them. She was stationed in the Queen's suite and was one of the two to engage with Third (along with Black Rose).[1] She was also among those who welcomed the Queen to the celebration of the successful birth of the Mother's child.[11]

Second Stellar Downdraft Priest of the Living Air Male From one of the backwards worlds; he serves as one of the assistants to the priests charged with supporting the new Breath of the Living Air. He has no problem chatting with aliens, and finds the throneworld culture baffling.[12]

Sehkvit, the Imperial Surgeon Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Surgeon Male The Chatcaavan known as the Surgeon throughout most of the Princes' Game series. Sehkvit, his name, was divulged during the events of the Insurrection. [13] Gallery
Sojourner Stars, the Lead Attendant Escutcheon, Laisrathera lands, Rose Point Female. The Chatcaavan female who was once Lead Attendant of the imperial nursery, and who has now chosen a name for herself, and is Lunet's nurse.
Song Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Harem member Female Very interested in dyeing Solanth Catha Galare's hair. [5]>
Stripes, the Priestess Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Priestess Female An outspoken member of the Chatcaavan Emperor's harem; initially named Stripes, the Queen Ransomed gave her the title Priestess.[14]
Sun's Kindness Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Harem member Female, golden hide. She was one of the four harem members used to distract Third and Third's Hand in Even the Wingless, along with Moon, Firemint, and Black Rose, due in part to her enjoyment of pain. The Mother selected her, and the Queen appealed to her pride by noting that only the most enticing females could do the duty she asked of them. She was stationed in the harem with Firemint. She was the only one who died, however, due to the Hand of Third's violent "enthusiasm."[15] The Queen wondered whether it was right that Sun's Kindness should die to free the Alliance slaves.[16] Remembered by Firemint as a friend.[5]

Third-Who-Was Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Third. Male. Previous holder of the Chatcaavan title of Third . The Emperor's left hand, where Second was his right. Known to have a penchant for cruelty and skilled at slave catching.[17]
Traitor-Second Male. Formerly Command-East and then Usurper's second.
Tristan Liferiver Akana Ris Fleet. Formerly son of a titled Chatcaavan. Male. Zafiil's contact in Hold 9 when she arrives in Akana Ris. A Chatcaavan refugee in disguse as a Tam-illee. Gallery
Tsonet Servant. Male, castrate. Brother to Oviin. Chatcaavan castrate who served as Jahir's second attendant.
Triage Throneworld, Throneworld Court Palace Triage Male Outside, working at the Surgeon's Clinic at the Throneworld Court Palace. He worked reception.[1] When the Queen sought shelter at the clinic during Second's challenge of the Emperor, the Surgeon sent him away with instructions not to return until he was sent for.[16]
