History

A Chatcaavan outpost world, Sharsenne was one of the sites of the Alliance/Chatcaavan peace treaty talks; in particular, the Chatcaavan site where the initial treaty was drafted. (The matching site on the Alliance side was Za'ara). Because of its history, this planet opened its doors to the Pelted and resulted in one of the rare mixed-population border worlds. It is owned by the Chatcaava, but only in a desultory way. This world was settled prior to the treaty but was not a popular destination for colonists.

"Its cities were part Chatcaavan and part Pelted, and the intermingling of cultures had produced households where people of disparate races found their viewpoints narrowing to a single vision. Unlike the monolithic microculture of the Chatcaavan capital and its palace, here there was dissent among the Chatcaava over the beliefs they deemed fitting. And those disaffected dragons maintained contact with family members still in the Empire proper." [1]

Geography

Na'er mentions 'brassy sunshine' and 'aquamarine' skies.[1]

Flora and Fauna

  • We know there's a wild, tasseled grain that grows over four feet.[1]

Cities and Landmarks

  • Jeintelle, the "Chatcaavan Venice". This was initially the single largest city on its continent, but after the Chatcaava shared it with the Pelted, an inland city with a spaceport outgrew it radically as a population center.
  • Abbey of St. Jasmine of the Stars

Appearances

Visited during Amulet Rampant, in Chapter 7, and again in Only the Open in Chapters 2 and 3, so look up what happened there and fill this part in.
