The timeline for major events in the Peltedverse. This is a living document, mostly because the author often makes math errors. Please check notes section for more.

"BA" stands for "Birth of the Accord."

Overview of Major Periods

Historical Era

Events leading up to the canon, most of which takes place in the Alliance's 400s.

Modern Era

Starting in the early 400s, this begins the period where most of the modern canon takes place. I'm separating it out so that we don't get overwhelmed by people's birthdates and story events.

From this point on, many books/stories happen within the same handful of years.

  • 480: Lisinthir goes to the Chatcaavan Empire as Ambassador[4]; a few months later, Hirianthial is captured by pirates and rescued by Reese[5]
  • towards the beginning of 481: The coup on the Eldritch planet[6] and the rescue of Lisinthir[7] happen at very close to the same time
  • next couple of weeks in 481: undoing the coup[8]
  • about a month after the coup: A Certain Assignation occurs[9]
  • maybe two weeks after the tryst?: the Emperor is captured and the Queen Ransomed sends the occupants of the harem to the Alliance[10]
  • no more than a week later: the Queen Ransomed is given to the pirates, and Jahir and Vasiht'h are captured; Lisinthir and Sediryl go off on their separate rescue missions[10]

Notes

I don't know exactly where to put these, so I'm dumping them all here and they can be migrated to the timeline and/or to individual pages as appropriate.

  • "A year wasn’t long enough for the Alliance to have recovered from the shock of the war. It wasn’t long enough for them to have finished reacting, in fact. The refugee situation wasn’t as urgent as it had been in the first months following Tam-ley’s destruction, but it wasn’t settled, either, and if anything the outrage and hurt had been mounting with the passing months."[11]
  • Of KindlesFlame after the destruction of Tam-Ley: “On the welcome station, which is where they were doing triage before deciding where to send the patients. Which is what he did for most of a year before they stood everyone down. He came home, and I think that’s the worst of it."[11]
  • Of Jahir: "One year apart was not enough to forget the habit of being at Lisinthir’s side. How simple it was, and how right."[12]
  • Of Sediry: "“You have only been her heir a year,” Jahir said."[13]
  • Of when and where Hirianthial was licensed: “Joyful Redeemer. Forty years ago, maybe. I don’t remember.”[14]
  • "Liolesa’s pause… that was her searching her memory. Nearly seven hundred years gave you a lot of memory to misplace; it never ceased to astonish Sediryl how much of it Liolesa could command without effort."[15]
  • Of Thesali trying to get pregnant again: "Whatever the case, if my sources were correct, she and your father didn’t resume trying until five or six years ago.”[15]
  • Ages: "Jahir, looking between his mare’s pricked ears, said, “At very least you did not say it in Lord Hirianthial’s hearing, who has another six hundred years on me or so.”"[16]
  • Of Sediryl and Jahir: "She was a newlywed whose husband had insisted on celibacy for a year… her morning could spare her an hour to enjoy him."[17]
  • “And there’s someone who sells heirloom edible flowers on Earth,” Marevhe said, “on a family farm that’s been in operation for almost nine hundred years…!”[18]
  • “Just so,” Felith said. “We have not had notable contact with mortals here on the homeworld until very recently, a few years ago, when the Seni Galare heir made a male of your species kin.”[19]
  • Of the time between Jahir leaving Selnor and the events of Healing Waters: "He’d intended to return far sooner, but the years had slipped past, and then after he’d renewed his resolve following the disaster at Tsera Nova, still it had needed nearly a year before he felt able to pry himself from the routine that structured his life."[20]

Notes

  • Year length and initialization is based on Selnor's orbit and represent the dates in Alliance Mean Time. These might not correspond to planetary localtime/dates.
  • This timeline has not yet been sanitized by the Timeline Department of the Pelted Historical Society.
  • I think I did a math error converting from AD to BA, which may result in some of the earlier dates being off by a year.
