This tenth anniversary edition of the original collection features all new illustrations. Ten years after she graduated from the Fleet Academe at Terracentrus, Alysha Forrest was captain of the battlecruiser UAV Stardancer with more honor to her name than any other officer her age. Trivia

The first edition of Alysha's Fall was published by Jim Doolittle's small press, Cornwuff Press, in 2000. At the time, color covers were created with successive 'screens' of color. Each additional color screen cost more (a lot more), so it wasn't unusual for small press efforts to have B&W covers only, or single-color covers. Jim was willing to shell out for a single color cover, which meant I had black, white, and one more color to work with. I chose yellow, which is what resulted in the first edition's "lit by lamplight" look. I revisited that for one of the teaser graphics.

By the time the tenth anniversary came around, Print On Demand had made full color covers a given, which gave me a full color palette to play with. Those ten years made a big difference in publishing technology...!
